| The purpose of this guide consists in providing understanding of the best sites around Snowdonia for a landscape photo. The basic moments for the photographer along this section include lakes Llynnau Mymbyr, Pass Llanberis, Snowdon, lock Dolbadarn and village Llanberis. |

The route lengthways A4086, especially between two villages Capel Curig and Llanberis has an abundance of possibilities of the landscape photographer, it - also a route in most first time when visitors Snowdonia take as it passes through some stunning landscape. Capel Curig, surrounded on all parties an impressive landscape, is a popular place to rise on many mountains in area and provides an excellent basis, wishing to spend some time, finding out mountain meetings at the summit. Afon Llugwy the river also runs the centre, providing a show of the Pontoon bridge of falling Cyfyng, especially photogenic after the downpour period.
At departure from Capel, Curing through A4086 to Llanberis, the valley extends, and lakes “Llynnau Mymbyr” seem in sight surrounded on one party lonely Moel Siabod and mountains Glyderau on other. More remote the highest mountain in the Wales, Snowdon can be noticed.
These lakes provide a good subject, especially with surrounding mountain background, and short walk will make some points of view.
Moel Siabod also provides the fine point of view, or for an air shot of an impressive valley or it is more probable for not broken representation through to Snowdon. It’s also rather gentle mountain to rise so the smaller quantity of energy than most of all in area demands a little.
Proceeding lengthways A4080, transferring lakes Llynnau Mymbyr, some the left sheds are easily located, and with an effort small amount can create very effective foreground to the remote Snowdon. Towers of mountain chain Glyderau are above expensive completely to connection A498 and A4086, the beginnings ‘ not-to-be-missed ’ Llanberis Pass. For the photographer searching for some impressive air photos, Snowdon will not disappoint certainly. From Pen-Y-Pass "Trace Pyg", a route to take, after short distance, representation to Llanberis and to its lakes appears, an impressive kind and worthy photos. Also from here mountain streams start to fall the mountain party, the big interest of the foreground. Routes here provide a lot of photographic opportunties, too many to describe tham all. The most known however, Grib Coch, ominous the looking mountain ridge only to be the crossed skilled travellers. There are especially photogenic two lakes considerably below a mountain way, Llyn Llydaw, and Glaslyn – the wide angular lens is essential to do to their justice. Mountain representations to Lliwedd, Shed Y Ddysgl and Snowdon all are impressive. For the vigorous photographer who continues on meeting at the summit while representation is impressive, personally I, do not trust it’s, almost so photogenic as accessible during lifting. One known feature of meeting at the summit - a unique train which, except for winter months, brings to hundreds tourists in top of Snowdon – forget any thought on mountain isolation, it is difficult meeting at the summit to grasp “person a free shot”. The train does an interesting photographic subject as it airs the way an abrupt trace from llanberis.
It also gives other choice to those photographers, not too sharp at the pedestrian tourism to mountain top.
Back in Youth hostel Pen-Y-Pass the excellent point of view and Snowdon and Pass most Llanberis can be grasped with the minimum effort.
Take a way which rises on the mountain party directly from the Youth hostel, heading mountains Glyderau. Within very short distance and the minimum ascension on impressive representations of Snowdon, Shed Goch, the Shed y Ddysgl and downwards Pass most Llanberis are noticed. This point of view - much easier choice than the Trace "Pyg" and still provides some useful photo.
Back on A4086, the road lowers dramatically downwards a boulder the covered Pass Llanberis to village Peri Nant, transferring on a way a number of falls and the mountain streams, everyone increasing in a drama and photogenic qualities after a heavy downpour. Peri most Nant provide possibility of walk with the chamber, there on foot routes any party of pass, either to Snowdon or to mountains Glyderau also travel. Once again as height increases so are done by the mountain review which can be capture.
Continuation from Peri Nant to Llanberis is afraid to pass the latent jewel, Lock Dolbadarn. Llanberis - also the basis for the Snoudonsky Mountain Railway, “must see” For enthusiasts of a train. It’s which standing presence of walk round village, streams and falls can be found in limits of short distance, Llyn Padarn, it is especially photogenic. Other number of routes travelling on foot on surrounding mountains leaves from here also, the most popular being Way Llanberis which follows a railway route to top of Snowdon.
If I was only to have short time in this area and should choose the favourite places for the most productive photo I would choose Pen-Y-Pass and there would be a short distance both along the Trace "Pyg" and along a route opposite, near to the Youth hostel – both make the impressive points of view. Other basic moment for me - Lock Dolbadarn infrequently photographed which arrives as the big surprise to me considering its excellent site and occurrence. |
