When we at first have started to dream about our trip, we reflected, "Well and affairs, we can stop somewhere, we want, at any time we want - we have a whole year!" It is good, it is true, but you cannot stop everywhere, you want, each time when you want. It is other case in a life where elections should be made irrespective of as long your trip. We’ve often said, that we could make the whole additional year and never visit any of places, we have gone for the first time. This country is really surprising!
You cannot do all it
It is so much, how many you could think, that you be able see everything, that you want in time which you choose, you are able not to. We offer, that you have chosen a theme or interest areas to help to concentrate your trip. Even then, you will possibly not do it to all. Things, happens, will force you to change the route, or you will add other things which demand repeatedly to have on priorities your list. But it is perfectly in order! It shows, that you have allowed flexibility in the list which is so important for a successful trip.
We have chosen national parks, historical architecture, small cities, and football stadiums of college (the assumption who has chosen that!) as our areas of the centre. During a trip we have added state capitals, mainly because Capitol buildings on all country - such historical buildings filled with interesting histories and beautiful architecture.
Our centre at supervision of all of forty three of national parks in the continental United States - plus we added approximately fifty of monuments, coasts, historical parks and so on - resulted to us the reason to go places where we will not go differently. That full obligation to supervision gave all of them to us a part of the most fascinating landscape and serendipitous the trip moments.
It seemed, that we will never reach National park Big-Bend - a way downwards in southwest Texas. Through sandy storms, a heat and miles of anything, we did not forge on, and it appeared one of our favourites. Theme choice
Some of you can have a steady idea of that will include your adventure. You thought of it and have planned it in your head during long time. Others will have only a vague representation that they would like to make
We have started to visualise our trip on week end flight. As you are softened and is far from bedlam of a daily life, it is ideal time to force those ideas to jump aside from each other and to start to concentrate on your dreams. Superplan Don’t
It brings to us in the main council. Do not do, we repeat, do not try to plan every day your trip before you will leave. Do not try to plan at all every week in all details. Now, we know, that it will irritate some of you very much. Where we remain? How our friends will know when to expect us? What, if we cannot enter into the favourite museum? Both forward and forward.
If you try to plan your each movement you will start to feel, that you are on a compulsory march to that following obligation, not in a trip of pleasure and research. Actually, we will go, how much to tell, that you finish that hated itself and did not possess experience. Frustration will begin, when you should lag behind the list, reservation, and false deadlines. You only cannot predict it far forward.
Width against depth
When we have left on our trip, we did not understand, that, playing every day and living your dream could be so tiring! One of our promptings to undertake our travel when we have made, was health and suitability. We were and in our the fiftieth, are healthy enough, and in good health. But you never know, how long it will last, so make it while you can.
Depending on a kind of a trip you have assumed also your personal way of life, you should discuss, as is better to execute your trip. If your purposes give themselves to supervision of smaller quantity of places, but with a research considerable quantity in each area consider a vehicle and a route which allows you to remain in one place longer and to investigate in "the centre and spoke", the sample instead of continuously promoting as we have made. As soon as you have a theme or a set of the purposes then you should start to take out a trip, not in the detailed way, but at least in the general way. Trust it or not, it is easy to allow to escape and not to see to year everything, that you have assumed. The general list, probably month after a month, guarantees, that in the end of time you will cover the basis which you wanted and will see the majority of things which you have planned, along with many things which you did not plan. Your memory will fall outside the limits with knowledge and prospect which you have received, both histories, and amusing and raising, will be engraved in your mind for ever. It is beauty of a long trip, and it cannot happen in some weeks at all or even month or two.
Naturally, your purposes will dictate your route, but the weather, specific events which you wish to visit a little, and other personal factors also will help to form your route. For us weather was the big factor as we wished to avoid ice and snow the greatest any cost. We did not want to sightsee in a cold, and we certainly did not wish to go in it. We know, we are petty bourgeoises! Generally, our plan worked. Naturally, November and December along east coast did not resemble for the summer, but we had corresponding clothes and really low temperatures enjoyed several big days, even with a small amount enough.
By then, when we have reached on the Southwest, it started to heat up, but again, you plan it, put on for this purpose, and think of people who live in that heat! One of our favourite hot points was Hotel of the Stream of the Furnace in Death valley. Temperatures fluctuated with high 80-s' night to more than 110 degrees within day - but what true oasis in desert it was. As it was nonseasonal, norms were more reasonable, and it was real pleasure. We felt, that we were in Casbah!
Friends on a way
You will arrive to thirst for friends to visiting along your route. Irrespective of the fact how well you live with the partner, you two will be soon sick to death speaking with the friend the friend! The absolute validity of this trip consists that weeks and sometimes months will pass where you will see not one other person, you know. Other time to plan forward - if you wish to plan a trip home during your adventure. If you decide to go within the whole year, you can wish to come home for a special case, such as wedding, a birth, or a holiday.
As we have gone since June till June, the Christmas was the fine middle of rupture of a trip.
Approximately two months prior to holidays, we have started to project, where we could be and what airports could be convenient. We then have started to observe costs of air tickets on the Internet from various elections while we have not arrested really good fare. Again, flexibility played a key role as we could wish to be in one of several places, and our exact dates of travel were insignificant.
So, you see, planning your big adventure is not it is valid difficultly. Free stay, the plan freely, and perfectly spends time! |
